Content: Dead Rising 2 takes place 5 years after the events of the original Dead Rising. In this game, you play Chuck Greene. His daughter was infected during the last outbreak and now he has to do anything in his power to get Zombrex, a drug to cure the disease. He joins a reality show to raise the money and buy the
drug, but he soon finds himself in the middle of an outbreak in Fortune City.
I won't spoil much more of the plot for you. During the game, you have to wait for rescue, which will come in exactly three days. During that time, you have a variety of missions to perform and thousands of zombies to kill in the process. You also have to ration and find more Zombrex for Katey. Along the way, you find other survivors, whom you can arm with various weapons to obtain their help. The case missions offer much more fun, but are often the hardest, and the time limit is very strict there.
Gameplay-wise, Dead Rising 2 brings a lot more weapons into the mix. You can pick-up almost anything and kill zombies with it. There are some very gruesome weapons to use and some very ingenious ones. You also have to fight human opponents, which, oddly enough, are very hard to kill, even harder than a zombie. You can kill a zombie with a good headshot, but you will have to empty clips of ammo to kill one human; just weird.
The multiplayer games are not really that interesting. They pretty much boil down to utter luck and button smashing. I didn't like them, which doesn't mean you won't either. I don't see an official demo, but there is a $5 arcade game on Xbox 360 that you can try if you have access to the console.
